Well, the Pope is currently here in the UK. I'm not going to any of the events organised around it - in fact, I'm steering clear. I consider myself to be a practising Catholic, by no means perfect but trying at any rate. However, I don't feel that I have the time or energy to participate, especially since it's in the middle of term time, and the proposed events for young people consisted of me being away from Friday evening until late on Sunday, including watching the sun rise.
Regardless of all that... I guess I just wanted to say that I support the Catholic Church. We are not perfect - nobody apart from God and Jesus and Mary is perfect. I do not in any way condone or defend the people who have abused children, or anyone else for that matter, but we are not all like that. Most of us are fairly normal, practical people who try their best in life.
I am by no means an authority, and I'm still figuring stuff out for myself so some of my beliefs probably aren't the same as the absolute orthodoxy of the Church, but if anyone would like to ask a question about the Catholic faith I'll try to answer. This isn't a place for a hate war though - I won't stop discussions, but if they're getting out of hand or rude I'll hide the comments and ask people to discuss it elsewhere.
On a completely unrelated topic... Did anyone apart from me succumb to the temptation to do this: [link] ?
Oh... and "It's like my RATTATTA is in the top percentage of RATTATTA!" is really getting on my nerves. Heart Gold/Soul Silver users should be familiar with this pesky youngster, and the phrase that's turning into a meme, apparently.
