A2 - Historiated Initial 'M'

Waaaaay back when, I did my project on artistic movements; one of the ones I picked was Medieval art. I mainly focused on icons and illuminations, and for my response produced this. It's a letter 'M' for the story of Martha and Mary in the Bible; Jesus is preaching to Mary, who kneels on the floor and listens, while Martha tries to get Mary to help her prepare, clean and cook for their guest, hence her looking annoyed.

Slightly manga style.

Gold acrylic, watercolour, fineliners and gel pen, done in June last year. Not my favourite piece, but interesting enough.
